Description

A 256GB microSD card for your camera, dash cam or recorder. Add it to the same order and it ships in the same parcel, so the device is ready to record when it arrives.

The brand depends on the stock we hold at the time, so the card you receive may differ from the one pictured. Check the maximum card size your device accepts before you order: some older cameras and dash cams stop at 32GB or 64GB.

Features

256GB of storage: About 130 hours of 1080p video at a typical 4 Mbps security camera bitrate, or about 26 hours at a 20 Mbps 4K bitrate, before loop recording starts replacing the oldest footage.
Ships with your order: Add it with a camera, dash cam or recorder and it goes out in the same parcel, so the device is ready to record when it arrives.
microSDXC format: Fits devices with a microSD slot that support microSDXC cards, which covers most current cameras, dash cams and recorders.
Brand varies with stock: The card is new. The brand, and the speed rating printed on it, depend on the stock we hold at the time of your order.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Security camera recording

Most of the cameras we sell record to a microSD card and leave it to you to supply one. Adding a 256GB card to the same order means the camera can start recording the day it is installed, with no second trip to a shop.

Dash cam loop recording

A dash cam records in a continuous loop and overwrites the oldest clips when the card is full, while keeping event clips locked. A larger card simply holds more driving before anything is overwritten.

Trail cameras and recorders

Trail cameras, voice recorders and wearable cameras all write to microSD. Check the maximum card size in the device manual first, because some older and smaller devices stop at 32GB or 64GB.

How it Works

Check your device: Confirm the camera or recorder takes microSD cards and accepts 256GB microSDXC cards. The maximum is in the manual or on the product page.
Insert and format: Insert the card with the device switched off, then format it inside the device before the first recording. That sets it up exactly the way the device expects.
Record and check: Loop recording keeps rewriting the card. If a device starts reporting card errors, format the card again, and replace it if the errors return.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which brand will I receive?

It depends on the stock we hold when your order is packed. We do not guarantee a particular brand, so the card may differ from the one pictured. If you need a specific brand or speed rating, contact us before you order and we will tell you what we have.

Will it work in my camera?

Yes, if the device takes microSD cards and supports 256GB. Check the maximum card size in the manual, because some older cameras and dash cams stop at 32GB or 64GB.

How much video fits on 256GB?

About 130 hours at a typical 4 Mbps 1080p security camera bitrate, or about 26 hours at 20 Mbps 4K. The real figure depends on your device's resolution and compression settings: halve the bitrate and you roughly double the time.

Do I need to format it first?

Yes. Format the card inside the device that will use it before the first recording. It takes a few seconds and avoids most recording errors.

Is an SD adapter included?

No. The card comes on its own. To read it on a computer without a microSD slot, use a card reader or an SD adapter.

Does it work with an iPhone?

No. iPhones have no microSD slot. The card is for cameras, recorders and other devices that take microSD cards.
