How it Works

Charge the camera over USB-C, then mount it on the bracket where it can see the approach. Leave it on battery or run the USB-C lead to a power point for continuous power.
Join it to your home WiFi on 2.4GHz or 5GHz, whichever gives the stronger signal where you have mounted it.
The PIR sensor watches for movement and human detection decides whether to alert you. Clips save to a micro SD card (up to 256GB) or to optional cloud storage, and you watch live view and playback in the free app on iOS or Android.

Does this support 5GHz WiFi?

Yes. It is dual-band, so it connects on 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Use 5GHz where you can, because there is usually less competing traffic on it.

Will I get alerts for cars and animals?

No. Human detection filters out non-human motion, so you are alerted when a person appears.

Can it record 24/7?

On mains power with a micro SD card fitted, yes. On battery it records on motion only, to conserve charge.

How long does the battery last?

Up to 180 days of standby with motion-activated recording. A busy spot drains it faster, so mains power or a solar panel is worth it somewhere with a lot of traffic.

Does it work at night?

Yes. The floodlight comes on for colour footage, and infrared mode is available for black and white recording without visible light.

Can I legally point this at my property?

Yes. Filming your own house, driveway and yard is generally lawful in New Zealand. Frame the camera so it covers your land rather than a neighbour's windows or their private space, and keep the recordings only as long as you need them. A business recording people must also follow the Privacy Act 2020. The camera also has a microphone, and recording a private conversation you are not part of is interception under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961, so turn the audio off if the camera covers somewhere other people talk privately.
