The iProtect 1217 splits the spectrum across 26 bands on two SMA antenna inputs, 600 to 2400MHz on one and 2400 to 6000MHz on the other, and runs in four modes: everything at once, a selected group, one band analysed on its own, or tracker mode for GPS. Forty three alarm thresholds let you work in a noisy building instead of fighting it. Average sensitivity is -60dBm, and the 6800mAh battery gives up to five hours.

A Building With Its Own RF Everywhere

An office already has WiFi access points, DECT handsets, printers and everybody's phones. A simple detector alarms constantly and tells you nothing.

Use band mode to isolate the range you care about and set a threshold above the building's own noise floor. Being able to ignore the infrastructure is what makes a sweep in a working office possible.

A Vehicle Check

Tracker mode exists because GPS trackers behave differently from a room bug: they wake, report, and go quiet again.

Run the vehicle in tracker mode over a period rather than a single pass, and use the high-band directional micro-pointer to close in when something registers.

Working Through A Property Room By Room

Group mode lets you set up once and repeat the same scan in every room, which is what makes results comparable.

Two SMA inputs mean the low band rod and the high band pointer are both connected the whole time, so switching between coverage and pinpointing does not mean changing hardware halfway through a sweep.

How it Works

Fit the rod antenna to the low band input and the micro-pointer to the high band input, then start in All Bands mode to see what the environment looks like before you go looking for anything.
Set an alarm threshold above the building's own noise using the 43 available levels, then work through the space in Group or Band mode so you can tell one signal type from another.
When a band lights consistently, switch to the directional micro-pointer and reduce sensitivity as you approach. Use Tracker mode separately for vehicles and bags.
