Description

VIM-GPS104 is a 4G vehicle GPS tracker with live voice monitoring, combining GPS and AGPS positioning for accurate, real-time location updates. A strong magnetic base enables discreet mounting, while a high-capacity 6000 mAh rechargeable battery supports extended operation. Remote access is available via the iOS and Android app, the web portal, and SMS, with push alerts for movement and geofence events. Adjustable vibration detection, overspeed notifications, and mileage reporting round out the theft-prevention toolkit.

Features

Accurate positioning: GPS + AGPS delivers fast, dependable location fixes in urban or remote areas.
Live listening: Call the unit to hear ambient audio around the vehicle for rapid verification.
Long standby power: 6000 mAh rechargeable battery supports up to 30 days of standby time between charges.
Security alerts: Geofence entry/exit, adjustable vibration sensitivity, overspeed and low-battery push notifications (alerts when battery drops below 20%).
Magnetic mounting: Strong magnetic base for quick, tool-free installation on metal surfaces.
Wide network compatibility: Works with major New Zealand networks (Spark, One NZ or 2degrees) and their MVNOs (e.g., Skinny, Warehouse Mobile or Kogan Mobile).

Applications

Where This Fits Best

Suitable for cars, motorcycles, trucks, vans and caravans where discreet tracking and audio check-ins are required. Use geofences for depots or routes, enable vibration and overspeed alerts for driver behaviour, and review route playback and kilometre reports for audits and logistics.

How it Works

Fit a SIM and charge it: Insert a micro SIM from Spark, One NZ or 2degrees, or from an MVNO on one of those networks such as Skinny, Warehouse Mobile or Kogan Mobile, and charge the 6000mAh battery.
Place it on the vehicle: The strong magnetic base allows a discreet fit on any steel surface with no wiring.
Track and set alerts: GPS with AGPS gives a rapid first fix, backed by GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo and QZSS, and the unit reports over 4G to the app, the web portal or SMS. Tune the vibration sensitivity so a passing truck does not trigger it, and add overspeed and geofence alerts.

Standby is quoted at up to 30 days depending on use and signal, and a low battery alert fires once the charge drops below 20 percent.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the live listening feature work?

Dial the tracker or use the platform to open its microphone and hear ambient audio around the vehicle.

How long will the battery last between charges?

Standby is quoted at up to 30 days on the 6000 mAh pack. Reporting frequency, signal and alert activity all move that, and a low battery alert fires below 20 percent.

Can I set up boundaries and get alerts?

Yes. Create geofences for zones and enable vibration and overspeed alerts for instant push notifications.

How is the tracker installed?

The strong magnetic base attaches to a clean, flat steel surface for a tool-free mount that takes seconds.

Which mobile networks does it work with?

4G LTE on Spark, One NZ or 2degrees, including their sub-brands and MVNOs such as Skinny, Warehouse Mobile or Kogan Mobile. A micro SIM from any of these providers is required.

Is it legal to use the live listening feature?

Audio is treated differently from location in New Zealand law, and more strictly. Listening to a conversation you are part of, or recording in your own vehicle where the people in it have been told, is generally lawful. Intercepting a private conversation you are not part of, using a device like this one, is an offence under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961 and carries real penalties. If you record for a business or at work, the Privacy Act 2020 applies as well. Use the tracking freely on your own assets and take advice before you use the microphone on anyone else. This is general information rather than legal advice.
