Description

The VIM-WIFIP8 is a 10,000mAh power bank with an 18W fast charging port and a 1080p camera behind the front cover. It records for about 22 hours on one charge, which is the reason to choose it: a full day and night of cover with no cable and no socket.

It joins your WiFi network for live view and motion alerts on Android or iOS, has automatic no-glow infrared for dark rooms, and records to a microSD card up to 128GB with loop recording. One button starts it.

Features

About 22 hours of recording: a 10,000mAh cell covers a full day and night without a socket or a cable.
1080p Full HD: 1920 x 1080 recording, saved locally to the microSD card.
WiFi live view: connects to your network and streams to the mobile app on iOS or Android for live view and control.
Automatic infrared night vision: switches itself on in low light and records in a dark room without adding visible light to it.
Motion alerts: push notifications when movement is detected, so you look when something happens.
Loop recording: the oldest files are overwritten when the card fills, so it keeps recording unattended.
One button operation: no menus to work through before it starts.
18W fast charging: it is a real power bank, and a quick one.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Full Day And Night, No Socket

Somewhere in a space you own where there is no power and you need the whole 24 hours covered. Twenty-two hours on one charge is what makes that a single deployment rather than three.

A Shed, Garage Or Lock-Up You Own

Automatic infrared means it handles the change from daylight to dark without being told, and loop recording means it does not stop when the card fills.

Somewhere You Want To Check On Remotely

Where there is WiFi reaching, live view and push alerts let you see the space from your phone rather than driving out to look.

How it Works

Charge and load: charge the 10,000mAh battery and fit a microSD card up to 128GB.
Connect: join the camera to your WiFi network in the mobile app for live view, alerts and settings.
Start it: one button starts recording. Loop recording keeps it going when the card fills, and infrared switches itself on when the light drops.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I legally use this?

You can record a space you own or control. Your own house, your own office or shop, a stockroom, a garage or a holiday house are all ordinary lawful uses and they are what this is sold for. The limits are worth setting up correctly from the start. The Privacy Act 2020 expects people to be told when a space is being recorded, so a notice at the entrance is the usual answer for any area that staff, visitors or contractors use. Bathrooms, changing areas and bedrooms are off limits, and intimate visual recording is an offence under the Crimes Act 1961. Audio is treated more strictly than video: recording a private conversation you are not part of is a criminal offence. If the space is not yours to control, this is not the right device for it. This is general information, not legal advice.

Do I need internet to watch live video?

The camera has to be on a WiFi network for the app to reach it. Once it is online there, you can view it from elsewhere. With no network it still records to the card and you review the footage afterwards.

How long does the battery really last?

About 22 hours of recording from the 10,000mAh cell, depending on settings and how much infrared is in use.

What happens when the card is full?

Loop recording overwrites the oldest files, so recording continues rather than stopping. Move anything you want to keep off the card before it cycles round.

Does it record in the dark?

Yes. The infrared is automatic and no-glow, so it records in a dark room without adding visible light to it and without you having to switch modes.

Will I get notified when something moves?

Yes. Motion detection sends a push notification to your phone.
