Description

A cellular game camera that will run on twelve AA cells or an optional solar panel, and send what it captures by app, MMS or email. Standby current is under 0.25mA, which is why a set of alkaline cells lasts a season.

It takes 12MP stills at 4032 x 3024 and 1080p video at 30fps, triggers in 0.4 seconds and detects to 20m. 940nm infrared is invisible at night. Up to four mobile numbers and four email addresses can be programmed as recipients.

Features

See Everything That Moves: 0.4-second trigger speed captures fast-moving animals or intruders without delay
Monitor From Anywhere: 4G LTE connectivity sends photos and videos to your phone instantly via app, MMS, or email
Work In Complete Darkness: 940nm infrared LEDs provide invisible night vision up to 20m range
Zero Setup, Zero Cables: Runs on 12 AA batteries or optional solar panel; mount with included strap in minutes
Weather Won't Stop It: Waterproof and dustproof housing operates from -20°C to 60°C
Smart Detection, Less False Alerts: Advanced PIR sensor distinguishes between animals and humans, reducing false triggers
Record Evidence In Detail: 12MP photos (4032x3024) and 1080P video at 30fps for clear identification
Keep Your Data Secure: Password protection and lockable housing prevent unauthorized access
Extended Recording Options: Record videos from 1s to 90s with programmable delay between triggers

Applications

Application Scenarios

Remote Job Site Security

Your construction or mining site is empty overnight. Tools and materials disappear without witnesses.

This 4G camera sends motion-triggered photos to your phone instantly. See who's there, what they're doing, and get alerts before equipment walks off.

Farm & Livestock Monitoring

Crops get trampled. Livestock breaks through fences. You're losing money and don't know why.

Position at fence lines or water points. Capture 12MP photos of what's happening day and night. Track animal patterns without disturbing them.

Environmental & Wildlife Surveys

You need accurate fauna data for compliance or research. Manual checks miss nocturnal activity.

Set and forget for weeks. 12 AA batteries provide extended operation. Review high-resolution photos of every animal that passes through.

How it Works

The camera uses 4G cellular (B1/B2/B5/B7/B87/B20 bands) to transmit photos and videos. When the PIR sensor detects motion, it triggers instantly, captures the image or video, and sends it to your phone or email via the free app. Works on batteries or optional solar power with no WiFi needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this work without WiFi?

Yes. It uses the 4G mobile network, so it works where 4G coverage at the camera spot is strong. See the Band 28 question below.

2. What SIM card does it need?

Requires a standard nano SIM card with data plan. Not included.

3. How long do batteries last?

Approximately 3-6 months with standard use, depending on trigger frequency. Optional solar panel extends operation indefinitely.

4. Can I view live video?

No. This is a trail camera that sends photos and short video clips when motion is detected. Not designed for continuous live streaming.

5. Is the app free?

Yes. Free app for iOS and Android. No subscription fees.

6. How many people can receive alerts?

1-4 mobile numbers and 1-4 email addresses can be programmed to receive alerts.

7. Does it support Band 28 (700MHz)?

No. It suits sites with strong 4G coverage. Band 28 (700MHz) is the band Spark, One NZ and 2degrees use to reach remote country, and a phone can show 4G on Band 28 where this camera has no signal. For back blocks, gullies and bush, choose the VIM-4GWILD6 ($329) or VIM-4GWILD9 ($360), which support it.

Is it legal to use this camera on my property in New Zealand?

Monitoring land you own or manage is generally lawful, and that covers the ordinary reasons for putting a camera out: wildlife, stock, gates, tracks, sheds and equipment. Keep the camera pointed at what you are actually watching.

The limits are about other people. If the camera also covers a neighbour's land, a road or a public track, keep the view to what you need and the footage secure: a business or farm recording people must follow the Privacy Act 2020, and even a householder can breach it if a recording is highly offensive. Never place a camera anywhere a person would reasonably expect privacy: making an intimate visual recording is a criminal offence under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
