A dual lens 4G solar security camera rather than a motion triggered trail camera. A 4mm main lens carries the 2K detail and a 2.8mm wide lens holds the context, and you switch between them in the app or watch both.

The lower module pans 355 degrees and tilts 90, AI recognises people and vehicles and tracks them across the frame, and GPS tags where the camera is. A 5W panel charges a 12,000mAh pack, so no mains supply is needed at all.

Is it legal to use this camera on my property in New Zealand?

Monitoring land you own or manage is generally lawful, and that covers the ordinary reasons for putting a camera out: wildlife, stock, gates, tracks, sheds and equipment. Keep the camera pointed at what you are actually watching.

Audio is treated differently from video. Recording a conversation you are taking part in is generally lawful in New Zealand, but recording a private conversation you are not part of is interception under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961. This camera has a microphone, so if it will sit unattended somewhere people talk, turn the audio off and record video only.
