Description

A 4G solar trail camera with GPS built in, so you know where every camera in the set is without keeping a list. It sends 12MP stills and short 1080p clips to your phone, or to up to four email addresses and four mobile numbers.

The PIR fires in 0.35 seconds, 940nm no glow infrared reaches 20m, and standby current is under 0.25mA, which is what makes an 8,000mAh pack and a panel last. The case locks and takes a password, so the settings and the card are not open to whoever finds it.

Features

See What Happens In Real-Time: 4G cellular streams photos and 10-second video clips to your phone instantly
Never Needs Battery Changes: Solar panel with 8000mAh backup runs indefinitely in daylight conditions
Find It If It Moves: Built-in GPS tracking shows exact location on Google Maps
Capture Lightning-Fast Wildlife: 0.35-second trigger speed catches animals in motion
Record Invisible To Animals: 940nm no-glow infrared doesn't spook wildlife at night
Get Alerts When Something Moves: PIR motion detection with instant 4G alerts to your phone
Clear Evidence Day Or Night: 12MP color photos by day, crisp 1080p video with 20m night vision
Survives The Elements: Water-resistant, dust-proof construction for permanent outdoor installation
Secure Your Data: Lockable case with password protection prevents unauthorized access
Know What Triggers It: Advanced thermal detection distinguishes humans from animals, reducing false alerts

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Farm and Wildlife Monitoring

Water troughs, gates and boundary lines all need checking and they are never in the same place.

Document what crosses each one without a daily run around the block. 940nm no glow infrared does not alert animals to the camera's position.

Remote Sites With No Power

Construction camps, holiday houses and back blocks have nothing to plug into.

The panel runs the camera indefinitely in daylight and 4G sends the alert the moment the PIR fires. Nothing depends on WiFi.

Camera Sets You Need to Find Again

Cameras get moved, buried in growth, or taken.

Built in GPS reports the position on a map, so a set of cameras across a large block stays accounted for.

How it Works

Fit a SIM and a card: Insert an active data SIM from Spark, One NZ or 2degrees and a microSD card up to 32GB, then set the delay, the mode and the recipients on the camera.
Mount and angle the panel: Strap the camera to a tree or post and place the solar panel where it will get sun. The 8,000mAh pack carries it through cloudy runs.
Take the alerts: When the PIR fires, the camera sends the photo or clip to the app, to your email or by MMS. GPS reports the camera's position, and the lockable case keeps the card and settings protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this need WiFi or power cables?

No. It is solar powered and connects over 4G, so it works where it gets sun and 4G coverage at the camera spot is strong. See the Band 28 question below.

2. What networks does it work on?

4G LTE bands for Spark, One NZ or 2degrees. You need to provide your own active SIM card with data plan.

3. How long does the battery last without sun?

The 8000mAh battery lasts approximately 2-3 months on a full charge with normal use. With 4-6 hours of sunlight daily, it runs indefinitely.

4. Can I view live footage?

Yes. The free smartphone app shows real-time photos and 10-second video clips when motion is detected. You can also trigger manual captures.

5. What if someone steals the camera?

GPS tracking shows its location on Google Maps. The location updates every few hours when motion is detected.

6. Will animals see the infrared at night?

No. 940nm no-glow infrared is invisible to humans and most animals. Perfect for observing wildlife without disturbance.

7. Does it support Band 28 (700MHz)?

No. It suits sites with strong 4G coverage. Band 28 (700MHz) is the band Spark, One NZ and 2degrees use to reach remote country, and a phone can show 4G on Band 28 where this camera has no signal. For back blocks, gullies and bush, choose the VIM-4GWILD9 ($360), which supports Band 28 and also carries GPS, or the VIM-4GWILD6 ($329).

Is it legal to use this camera on my property in New Zealand?

Monitoring land you own or manage is generally lawful, and that covers the ordinary reasons for putting a camera out: wildlife, stock, gates, tracks, sheds and equipment. Keep the camera pointed at what you are actually watching.

The limits are about other people. If the camera also covers a neighbour's land, a road or a public track, keep the view to what you need and the footage secure: a business or farm recording people must follow the Privacy Act 2020, and even a householder can breach it if a recording is highly offensive. Never place a camera anywhere a person would reasonably expect privacy: making an intimate visual recording is a criminal offence under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
