Description

The VIM-CLOCKCAMBL is a Bluetooth speaker, an FM radio and a bedside alarm clock with a 1080p camera behind a 120 degree pinhole lens. The 2600mAh battery is the thing that separates it from the mains-only clocks: you can stand it wherever you need it for the afternoon and move it back later.

It joins your WiFi for live view on Android or iOS, records video and audio to a microSD card up to 128GB, and sends an alert when it detects movement. No-glow infrared keeps it recording after the lights go off, and it records while charging, so it can also be left plugged in for continuous cover.

Features

Real speaker and clock: Bluetooth audio, FM radio and an alarm clock that all work, so it earns its place on the shelf.
Battery or mains: A 2600mAh cell for flexible placement, or leave it on the adapter for 24/7 recording. It records while charging.
1080p with audio: Full HD video with sound to a microSD card up to 128GB.
120 degree lens: Wide enough to take in a room from a corner or a bedside table.
No-glow infrared: Records a dark room without adding visible light to it.
Motion alerts: Movement sends a notification to your phone wherever you are.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Child's Room in Your Own Home

Music, a clock and a camera you can check from the kitchen. Tell anyone who works in your home that the camera is there.

Your Own Lounge, Moved As Needed

The battery is why you would pick this one. Stand it where you want cover this afternoon, put it back on the shelf tonight.

Your Own Home Office

It plays music, it keeps time and it records the room. Anyone else who uses that room should be told about the camera.

Your Own Front Room Overnight

No-glow infrared keeps a dark room recorded without a light in it, and motion alerts tell you if something happens.

How it Works

Charge and load: put a microSD card up to 128GB in the unit and charge the 2600mAh battery, or leave it on the supplied adapter.
Pair it: join it to your WiFi in the free Android or iOS app and set motion detection or continuous recording.
Watch or review: watch live from your phone, or take the card out and review the recordings.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the battery last?

The supplier gives the capacity as 2600mAh but does not publish a runtime figure for this model. It records while charging, so for continuous cover leave it on the adapter and treat the battery as the reason you can move it around.

Does the speaker work?

Yes. Bluetooth audio, FM radio and the alarm clock all work, and they work while the camera is recording.

How dark can the room be?

No-glow infrared records a dark room without adding any visible light to it. There is no red glow because the infrared is outside the range your eye can see.

What card does it take?

microSD up to 128GB, not supplied. It records video with audio, so plan the card size around how much of both you want to keep.

Can I use this to check on my children at home?

Yes. Your own home and your own children is the ordinary use for a camera like this, and nothing stops a parent watching their own house. Where the law does apply is to the adults in it: if a nanny, a cleaner or a carer works in your home, tell them the camera is there and where it points. That is both the fair thing to do and what the Privacy Act 2020 expects. Never put a camera in a bathroom, and intimate visual recording is an offence under the Crimes Act 1961. Audio is treated more strictly than video, so leave the microphone off unless there is a reason for it.
