Voice activation is armed with a single switch, and standby runs to about 30 days on that setting. Continuous recording is up to 15 hours. Playback is through the supplied micro USB earphones, which have inline controls for next, previous and pause.

No. The 8GB is fixed and the housing carries no card slot to add or swap. The only external openings on the body are the microphone pinhole, the slide switch and the micro-USB port, all sitting together along the bottom bevel of the pendant housing.
Yes. The supplied earphones seat in the micro-USB port on the bottom bevel, so playback runs directly off the unit. The inline controls move between captured files and pause or resume with a long press, which lets an operator confirm a session was recorded before leaving a site.
Recording a conversation you are taking part in is generally lawful in New Zealand. That covers the ordinary reasons for buying a recorder: your own meetings, your own interviews, a call you are on, dictation, and keeping a record of something that was said to you. Telling the other people is good practice, and it is what makes a recording useful later rather than contentious.
The limit is conversations you are not part of. Recording or listening to a private communication you are not a party to is interception under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961, and it is an offence.
