The MSPWB-20000 is a 20,000 mAh lithium ion power bank for keeping phones, tablets, GPS units and cameras running when there is no wall socket nearby. It recharges over Micro USB, Lightning or USB-C, and it powers two devices at once from a pair of 5V outputs rated at 1A and 2.1A.

Short circuit, overcharge and temperature protection are built in and the cell is rated for more than 500 charge cycles. At 142 x 70 x 25 mm it travels in a glovebox, a camera bag or a day pack. Colour depends on what we have in stock: we ship white, grey or black.

How it Works

Recharge the bank from any USB charger using the Micro USB, Lightning or USB-C input. A full charge from empty takes about six hours.
Plug your device into one of the two 5V outputs. Use the 2.1A output for a phone or tablet and the 1A output for smaller accessories, or run both together.
The charge level indicator shows what is left, so you can top the bank up before you head out rather than discovering it flat when you need it.

How long does it take to recharge the power bank?

About six hours from empty using a 5V USB charger, through whichever of the three inputs suits the cable you have to hand.

How many phone charges will I actually get?

Around three full charges of a typical 4,500 mAh phone. The 20,000 mAh figure is measured at the cell voltage of 3.7V, and some of that energy is lost stepping up to the 5V your phone charges at, so what actually reaches the phone is less than the number on the label. A smaller phone gets more charges out of it, a tablet fewer.

Can it charge two devices at once?

Yes. The two 5V outputs are rated at 1000 mA and 2100 mA, so you can run a phone or tablet on the larger output and a smaller accessory on the other at the same time.

Is this a fast charger?

No. The outputs are 5V at up to 2.1A, which is around 10 watts. That is standard USB charging rather than one of the fast charging standards newer phones support, so a large phone will take longer to fill than it would on its own fast charger. It will charge steadily and safely, it just will not be quick.

Will it work outdoors in the cold?

The rated working range is -10 to 40 degrees Celsius, with storage from -20 to 50. Like any lithium ion cell it delivers less of its capacity when it is cold, so on a frosty morning expect to get less out of it than you would indoors.
