The VIM-MINI2-4G is a hardwired 4G GPS tracker with live audio monitoring, built for continuous vehicle oversight. It combines GPS, AGPS and mobile tower positioning with remote listening through a built-in microphone, geo-fence and overspeed alerts, and anti-theft controls including motion-triggered SMS or call notifications and an optional remote fuel cut-off. A 200mAh backup battery keeps it reporting through a power cut, and one master number can manage several devices.
The unit hardwires to the vehicle at 10 to 100V for continuous use and switches to its internal 3.7V 200mAh backup if external power is cut.

Yes, when the unit is wired to the fuel pump circuit, the remote cut-off can be triggered as set out in the installation guide. Use it only on a stationary vehicle you own or control. Cutting power to a moving vehicle is dangerous and is not what the feature is for.

Audio is treated differently from location in New Zealand law, and more strictly. Listening to a conversation you are part of, or recording in your own vehicle where the people in it have been told, is generally lawful. Intercepting a private conversation you are not part of, using a device like this one, is an offence under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961 and carries real penalties. If you record for a business or at work, the Privacy Act 2020 applies as well. Use the tracking freely on your own assets and take advice before you use the microphone on anyone else.
