Description

One lens has to choose between watching the whole yard and watching the gate. The VIM-4GSOL10 does not: a 4MP PTZ lens that pans 355 degrees and tilts 90 sits above a fixed 4MP lens covering 180 degrees, and both record at once.

A 0.25 second PIR trigger with a 12 metre range and a 120 degree arc wakes it, six white floodlight LEDs reach 50 metres, and the camera switches its own behaviour by battery level: below 50 percent it records on PIR only, above 50 percent it records 24/7. A 6 Watt panel on a 2m lead keeps the pack charged, a 4G SIM on bands B1 to B40 carries the picture, and footage goes to a microSD card up to 128GB or the cloud.

How it Works

Mount the camera and the panel: The panel is on a 2m lead so it can face the sun while the camera faces the yard. Nothing is trenched and no router is involved.
Insert a data SIM: 4G on bands B1 through B40 brings it online. Live view, playback and alerts reach your phone, and more than one person can be given access.
Let it manage its own power: Above 50 percent battery it records 24/7. Below that it falls back to PIR triggered recording, which is what keeps it alive through a dull week rather than flat by Thursday.
