Important to understand: This is a Bluetooth tracker, not a cellular GPS device. It shows your cat's last known location based on when a nearby smartphone passed within range of the tag. In urban and suburban areas with lots of foot traffic, updates are frequent. In rural areas with fewer people around, updates may be less regular. Will this find my cat if she does not come home?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on where you live. The tag has no GPS and no SIM card, so it cannot report its own position. It is located when your phone is within Bluetooth range of about 120 metres, or when a neighbour's phone running Apple Find My or Google Find Hub passes close to it. On a suburban street that happens often. On a lifestyle block or a rural road it may not happen at all, and you should not rely on it there.

Is the breakaway buckle safe for cats?

Yes. Breakaway buckles are the recommended standard for cat collars. If your cat is snagged on a fence, a branch or furniture the buckle releases under pressure. The collar stays on during normal activity and opens when real force is applied.

How heavy is the tracker?

Each tag weighs 7 grams. Most cat collar bells weigh 3 to 5 grams, so the tag adds a little more than a bell. It suits adult cats and larger kittens.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Apple Find My and Google Find Hub are built into the phones and are free to use. There is no SIM card, no data plan and no contract. The running cost is a CR2032 coin cell about once a year.

What would work better in a rural area?
