Is this a real-time GPS tracker?

No. This is a Bluetooth tracker that relies on the Apple Find My and Google Find Hub networks. It has no GPS chip and no SIM card, so it cannot report its own position and there is no live trail to follow. It shows where another phone last saw it. Will it alert me if my car is moved overnight?

Not reliably, and you should not buy it for that. The tag has no motion sensor and cannot call your phone. A separation alert only fires when the tag leaves the range of the phone it is paired with, so if you are asleep inside and your phone is with you, the alert depends on the car being close enough for that link to break while you are in range of it. A 4G tracker with a SIM card is the product that raises a movement alarm on its own.

How well does it work for a hidden vehicle tag?

In cities and suburbs the network is dense, and phones passing parked cars refresh the tag's last known position often. In remote or rural areas with few phones around, updates are infrequent or absent. It is a useful recovery aid in a populated area and it is not a substitute for a cellular GPS tracker anywhere else.

Will the case survive under a vehicle or in a toolbox long term?

Yes. The rubber case with its O-ring seal is built for vibration, rain, dust and temperature swings, and the tag inside is already IP67. The coin cell lasts up to a year, so it can stay in place and be checked from the app when you need it.

Can one pack cover two vehicles?
