Description

Two Bluetooth tracker tags and two adjustable silicone wrist bands, ready to wear out of the box. Each tag pairs with Apple Find My on iPhone or Google Find Hub on Android, so a household running both platforms only needs one type of tag. Ring the tag from your phone when it is close by, get a separation alert when it drops out of your phone's range, and check the map for the last place the finding network saw it. No SIM card and no subscription. This is a Bluetooth item tracker rather than a GPS device, and it is not a personal safety or medical alert product.

Features

Works with Apple and Google: One tag pairs with Apple Find My on iPhone and Google Find Hub on Android, so a household running both platforms only needs one type of tag.
No subscription: The tag rides on the free Apple and Google finding networks. No SIM card, no data plan and no monthly fee.
Wear it or clip it: Each tag snaps into an adjustable silicone band, or onto the included lanyard for a bag or a set of keys.
IP67 rated: Sealed against dust and water immersion, so rain, handwashing and a band dropped in a puddle are not a problem.
Ring and vibrate: Trigger an audible tone and a vibration from your phone to find the tag in the room you are standing in.
Separation alert: Your phone warns you when the tag drops out of its Bluetooth range, so you notice a band left behind before you leave.
A year on a coin cell: A replaceable CR2032 runs for up to a year. The app tells you when to change it and a screwdriver is in the box.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Bands and Kit That Get Left Behind

Sports bags, school bags and jackets get left in changing rooms and car boots. Clip a tag to the bag and your phone warns you when it drops out of range, then rings the tag once you are back within about 120 metres of it.

Two Tags, Two Phones, One Household

Register one tag to an Apple Find My account and the other to Google Find Hub. Each person adds their own tag in their own app, so nobody has to share a login or change phones.

Luggage and Travel Gear

Airports and hotels are full of phones running these networks, so a tag in a checked bag or a camera case usually reports a recent position. It tells you roughly where the bag is. It does not tell you where a person is.

How it Works

Add: Open Apple Find My on iPhone or Google Find Hub on Android and add the tag. It takes about 30 seconds.
Attach: Snap the tag into the silicone band, or clip it to a bag with the lanyard.
Find: Ring the tag from the app while you are within Bluetooth range of about 120 metres. Beyond that, the map shows the last position another phone on the same network reported, with the time it was seen.

What this cannot do: the tag has no GPS chip and no SIM card, so it never reports its own position. It is found only when your phone is close enough to hear it, or when somebody else's phone running Apple Find My or Google Find Hub passes within Bluetooth range and relays an encrypted update. Where nobody walks past, nothing is reported at all.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use this to find a child or an older relative who has gone missing?

No, and it should not be bought for that. The tag has no GPS and no SIM card, so it cannot report where it is. It is located only when your own phone is within Bluetooth range of about 120 metres, or when somebody else's phone running Apple Find My or Google Find Hub happens to pass close to it. A quiet street at night, a paddock or a bush track may have no passing phone for hours, which is exactly the situation you would be relying on it in. For live location of a person, use a 4G tracker with a SIM card from our personal GPS tracker range.

What can it actually tell me?

Two things. Within about 120 metres of your phone it rings and vibrates on command, which finds a band dropped in a house, a car or a changing room. Further away, the map shows the last place another phone on the network saw the tag, with a timestamp. That timestamp matters: in a busy street it may be minutes old, and in an empty area it may be hours old or missing entirely.

Do I need a subscription or a SIM card?

Neither. Apple Find My and Google Find Hub are built into the phones and are free to use. There is no SIM card, no data plan and no monthly fee. The only running cost is a CR2032 coin cell about once a year.

Does everyone in the house need the same kind of phone?

No. One tag can be registered to Apple Find My and the other to Google Find Hub, so a mixed household is covered by the same 2 pack. A single tag is registered to one account at a time rather than to both networks at once.

Is it waterproof enough for daily wear?

Yes. The tag is IP67, which covers dust, rain, handwashing and brief immersion, and the silicone band wipes clean. Neither part is intended for swimming lengths or diving.
