Description

Most Bluetooth trackers lock you into one phone platform. The VIM-TAG works with either Apple Find My or Google Find Hub, so the same tag suits an iPhone or an Android phone. Clip it to your keys, drop it in a bag or slide it into a wallet. Ring it from your phone to find it in the room you are standing in, or check the map for the last place the finding network saw it. No SIM card, no monthly fee. It is a Bluetooth item tracker rather than a GPS tracker.

Important to understand: This is a Bluetooth tracker, not a cellular GPS device. It shows your item's last known location based on when a nearby smartphone passed within range of the tag. In cities, suburbs, and busy public areas, updates are frequent. In remote locations with few people around, updates may be less regular. For most people tracking everyday items in populated areas, the crowd-sourced network provides practical, reliable location data at zero ongoing cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a GPS tracker?

No. There is no GPS chip and no SIM card. It is a Bluetooth item tracker: it rings on command within about 120 metres of your phone, and beyond that the map shows where another phone running Apple Find My or Google Find Hub last saw it. If you need a live position at any moment, that is a 4G GPS tracker with a SIM card, which we sell separately.

Does it work with both iPhone and Android?

Yes. It connects to Apple Find My on iPhone and iPad and to Google Find Hub on Android, and each person tracks their own items from their own phone. A single tag is registered to one account at a time rather than to both networks at once.

Do I need a subscription?

No. Both finding networks are built into the phones and are free to use. There is no SIM card, no data plan and no monthly fee of any kind.

How accurate is the location?

Within Bluetooth range the app rings the tag and points you in the right direction. Beyond that, accuracy and freshness depend on how many phones pass nearby. In a suburb or a city centre updates are frequent. In a quiet rural area they may be hours apart or absent, and the map will show you an old position rather than tell you it has lost the tag.

Can I put one in my car or on my bike?

You can, as a low-cost recovery aid in a built-up area, and the sealed case bundle is the better version for that. Be clear about what it does not do: it has no motion sensor, so it cannot raise an alarm when the vehicle moves, and it cannot report a position on its own. For anti-theft alerting and a live trail, fit a 4G GPS tracker with a SIM card.
