Description

A wire under a jacket. A phone left recording in a bag. Something planted before anyone arrived. In a high stakes meeting you will often not find the device, but you can make it useless.

The VIM-BLOCK3 puts 37 ultrasonic emitters into a 360 degree field out to six metres, split into three selectable output zones so you can concentrate the field on the side of the room that matters. The 8000mAh battery runs three hours with every zone live, six with half of them, and it takes mains power for longer sessions.

Features

Defeat All Recording Devices: Suppresses body wires, phone mics, digital recorders and planted bugs simultaneously
360° Room Protection: Full-circle suppression covers boardrooms up to 6m in every direction
Directional Control: 3 output zones let you concentrate suppression toward doors, guests or known risk areas
Dual Power Modes: Battery for mobile deployment (3-6 hours) or 15V input for continuous operation
Covert Form Factor: Resembles a desktop speaker, draws no attention in executive environments
Recordings Become Static: Any captured audio is unintelligible, protecting conversations even if a device goes undetected

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Large Meeting Room

Commercial terms, a strategy session, a partnership discussion. Everyone present is carrying a phone.

Place the blocker in the centre of the table. The 360 degree field covers every seat, and the three directional zones let you concentrate output toward the door or the visitor side of the table.

A Room You Have To Set Up Quickly

Battery operation means no power hunt and no cabling, so the unit is working within seconds of coming out of a bag.

Three hours with all zones live covers most meetings. Drop to half the zones and you get about six, which is enough for a full day of back to back sessions.

The Active Half Of A Counter Surveillance Routine

You have swept the room and found nothing. That is a result about the moment you looked, not about the next two hours.

Blocking protects the conversation itself, which detection cannot do. Running both is the standard approach: a detector to find hardware, a blocker to cover what the detector might have missed.

How it Works

Stand the unit near the centre of the table and choose how many of the three output zones you want live.
Run it on the 8000mAh battery for a short meeting, or plug the 15V 5A supply in for a session that runs all day.
The 37 emitters fill the room to six metres. Anything with a microphone in that space, a phone, a body wire, a planted bug or a digital recorder, records the interference instead.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do the three zones do?

They divide the 360 degree output into three directions you can switch independently. Running half the zones doubles the runtime to about six hours, so if the risk is on one side of the room you get twice the battery.

How long does it run?

Three hours with all zones live, about six with half. The 15V 5A input gives you continuous operation.

Is six metres from the unit or across the room?

From the unit. That is a six metre radius, so a twelve metre span with the blocker in the middle.

Is it loud?

Not to a person. Ultrasonic output sits above adult hearing. People sensitive to high frequencies may be aware of it.

How portable is it?

665 grams and 160 by 80 by 93mm, so it packs into a bag easily. It is a room unit rather than something you conceal on the table.

Is it legal to use one of these in New Zealand?

You can protect your own conversations in a space you control, and that is what these are made for. Two things to keep in mind. This is an ultrasonic device: it emits sound above the range of human hearing, not radio signals, so it is not a radio jammer, and radio frequency jamming equipment is regulated separately under the Radiocommunications Act 1989. And it works on every microphone in range, including ones you may be relying on, so switch it off before a call you want recorded and never use it to interfere with a recording someone is lawfully entitled to make.
