Description

A straightforward 4K hunting camera with no SIM and no subscription. It records 3840 x 2160 and takes 32MP stills, and everything stays on a card up to 512GB until you collect it.

PIR thermal detection reaches 20m across 120 degrees and triggers in 0.3 seconds, so it responds to body heat rather than moving branches. Forty 850nm low glow LEDs light 20m at night, and eight AA cells give about eight months of standby, with a 6V socket for a solar panel.

Features

See Every Detail in 4K: Ultra HD 3840x2160p video records clear footage, day or night
Pinpoint What Moves: PIR thermal detection tracks body heat, not just motion, for fewer false alerts
Capture in 0.3 Seconds: Fastest trigger speed in its class catches wildlife mid-stride
Monitor for Months: Ultra-low power mode delivers 8-month standby on 8 AA batteries
Discreet Night Operation: Low-glow 850nm infrared LEDs provide 20m night vision with only a faint red glow
Wide 120-Degree View: Broad lens angle covers more area with fewer cameras
Built for the Elements: IP66 waterproof and dustproof rating withstands rain, snow, and dust
Record Only When It Counts: Motion detection recording saves battery and storage
Watch Nature Unfold: Time-lapse function captures long-term environmental changes

Farm and Property Security

Gates left open overnight. Livestock missing at dawn. Equipment moved without permission.

This trail camera captures 4K video with 32MP stills. PIR thermal detection ignores blowing grass and leaves, only triggers on animals or people. 8-month standby means you check it seasonally, not weekly.

Wildlife Research and Hunting

Tracking game patterns without disturbing natural behavior. Documenting species without human presence altering outcomes.

Low-glow 850nm infrared shows only a faint red glow at the LEDs. 0.3-second trigger captures fast-moving animals. 512GB SD card support (not included) stores weeks of high-resolution footage.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Game Trails and Wallows

Wind moving scrub sets off cheap cameras all night and fills the card with nothing.

PIR thermal detection responds to body heat rather than movement alone, so the triggers you review are animals. 0.3 seconds is quick enough to catch one crossing.

Farm Boundaries and Back Gates

The far side of a block has no power, no coverage and no need for a monthly plan.

Eight AA cells run about eight months, and a 6V solar panel extends that indefinitely. Footage goes to a 512GB card.

Predator and Pest Monitoring

Knowing what is taking lambs or raiding a nest site needs a clear night frame.

Forty 850nm low glow LEDs cover 20m without a white flash, and 4K capture is enough to tell one species from another.

How it Works

Powered by 8 AA batteries (or optional 6V solar panel), the camera stays in ultra-low power standby until the PIR thermal sensor detects body heat. It triggers in 0.3 seconds, capturing 4K video or 32MP photos. Footage saves directly to SD card (up to 512GB, not included). No WiFi or cellular required, fully standalone operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this need WiFi or cellular service?

No. Fully standalone operation. Stores footage to SD card.

2. How long do batteries last?

Up to 8 months in ultra-low power standby with 8 AA batteries. Actual life depends on temperature and trigger frequency.

3. What SD card does it use?

Supports up to 512GB microSD card (not included). Class 10 or higher recommended for 4K video.

4. Is it waterproof?

Yes. IP66 rated waterproof and dustproof. Can withstand rain, snow, and dust.

5. Can animals see the night vision LEDs?

Possibly, up close. The 850nm LEDs show a faint red glow that some animals notice, but there is no white flash to startle them.

6. How do I view the footage?

Remove SD card and insert into computer or compatible device. No app or WiFi required.

Is it legal to use this camera on my property in New Zealand?

Monitoring land you own or manage is generally lawful, and that covers the ordinary reasons for putting a camera out: wildlife, stock, gates, tracks, sheds and equipment. Keep the camera pointed at what you are actually watching.

The limits are about other people. If the camera also covers a neighbour's land, a road or a public track, keep the view to what you need and the footage secure: a business or farm recording people must follow the Privacy Act 2020, and even a householder can breach it if a recording is highly offensive. Never place a camera anywhere a person would reasonably expect privacy: making an intimate visual recording is a criminal offence under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
