Description

A card based 4K trail camera with no SIM, no app and no monthly cost, for hunters who want image quality rather than notifications. Video is 4K at 30fps and stills go to 32MP, held on a card up to 512GB.

The PIR reaches 20m and fires in 0.2 seconds, which is quick enough for an animal crossing rather than standing. 940nm black flash infrared covers 20m with no visible glow, and eight AA cells give up to twelve months of standby.

Features

See in Total Darkness: 940nm infrared night vision illuminates up to 20 meters without visible glow
Never Miss a Moment: 0.2-second trigger speed starts recording the instant motion is detected
Ultra HD Evidence: 4K video at 30FPS and 32MP still photos capture critical detail
Months of Uninterrupted Monitoring: Up to 12 months standby time on 8 AA batteries
Withstands the Elements: IP66 waterproof and dust-proof housing for year-round outdoor use
Record Long-Term Changes: Time-lapse mode documents plant growth, weather patterns, and animal activity
Massive Storage Capacity: Supports SD cards up to 512GB (card not included)

Applications

Professional Wildlife Research

Document elusive species without disturbing their natural behavior. The 940nm infrared gives off no visible glow, so animals are far less likely to notice it, and the 0.2-second trigger captures fast-moving wildlife. 32MP photos provide clear identification for species surveys and research documentation.

Remote Property Security

Monitor farm perimeters, equipment yards, or remote cabins without power or WiFi. The IP66 rating withstands rain, dust, and temperature extremes from -20°C to 60°C. With 12-month battery life, you can deploy it seasonally without frequent maintenance visits.

How it Works

The trail camera's passive infrared (PIR) sensor detects heat and motion within its 20-meter range. When triggered, it instantly captures 4K video or 32MP photos, storing them to the SD card. The 940nm infrared LEDs provide invisible illumination for nighttime recording. Powered by 8 AA batteries, it can operate continuously for months in remote locations.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Does this need WiFi or cellular service?

No. This is a standalone trail camera that records to an SD card. No WiFi, cellular service, or monthly fees required.

2. What batteries does it use?

8 AA batteries. We recommend lithium batteries for cold weather or alkaline for general use. Battery life varies with usage but can last up to 12 months in standby mode.

3. Is the SD card included?

No. You need to provide your own SD card up to 512GB capacity. We recommend Class 10 or higher for 4K video recording.

4. Can I view footage on my phone?

Yes, but not wirelessly. Remove the SD card and insert it into your computer or use a card reader with your phone to view files.

5. Will animals see the infrared lights?

No. The 940nm wavelength is invisible to humans and most animals, making it completely stealth for nighttime monitoring.

6. How waterproof is it?

IP66 rating means it's protected against powerful water jets and dust ingress. It can handle heavy rain, snow, and dusty conditions.

Is it legal to use this camera on my property in New Zealand?

Monitoring land you own or manage is generally lawful, and that covers the ordinary reasons for putting a camera out: wildlife, stock, gates, tracks, sheds and equipment. Keep the camera pointed at what you are actually watching.

The limits are about other people. If the camera also covers a neighbour's land, a road or a public track, keep the view to what you need and the footage secure: a business or farm recording people must follow the Privacy Act 2020, and even a householder can breach it if a recording is highly offensive. Never place a camera anywhere a person would reasonably expect privacy: making an intimate visual recording is a criminal offence under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
