Most pen cameras run flat somewhere between 80 and 95 minutes, which is often just before the part you needed.
The VIM-PENCAML2 records Full HD 1920 x 1080 with audio for two to three hours on one charge, onto 32GB of built in memory with no card to fit or lose. It is a working pen with two spare ink cartridges in the box, one button starts and stops it, and files copy straight off over USB 2.0 on Windows or macOS. 152 x 13 mm, 50 g.
Two to three hours of continuous recording from the 380mAh battery, depending on use and temperature. That is roughly twice what most pen cameras manage, and it is the main reason to choose this one.
No. The 32GB is built into the pen, so there is no card slot and no card to buy, lose or have fall out. Files come off over USB 2.0.
Connect over USB 2.0 and copy the MOV files from the internal storage. It works on Windows and macOS without drivers or software.
Yes. A built in microphone captures audio saved with the 1080p video, so playback is synchronised.
Yes. It is a working pen and two spare ink cartridges are in the box, so it can be doing the ordinary thing a pen does the whole time.
You can record in a public place, and you can record a conversation you are yourself part of, which covers most ordinary use. The limits matter. Recording a private conversation you are not part of is an offence under the Crimes Act 1961. Places where people reasonably expect privacy, such as changing rooms, bathrooms and private homes, are off limits without consent, and intimate visual recording is a serious offence. The Privacy Act 2020 governs how you then hold and use the recording, and workplaces, schools and venues can set stricter rules than the law requires. This is general information, not legal advice.
