Description

A handbag with a camera module fitted behind the front panel. It joins your WiFi network, streams live to a phone app and records to a microSD card in the bag, so it works either as a carried camera or as one you set down on a shelf at your own premises.

The live stream runs at 4K and recordings are saved at 1080p Full HD with audio. The 2500mAh battery gives about five hours, and a USB power bank inside the bag will run it for far longer if you are leaving it in one place.

Features

4K live, 1080p recorded: live view streams at 4K Ultra HD. Files written to the card are 1080p Full HD with audio.
WiFi live view: connects to your own network and streams through the free iOS and Android app from anywhere with internet.
Carry it or set it down: works as a carried camera and equally as a fixed one on a shelf in a room you own.
Motion detection with push alerts: recording starts on movement and a notification goes to your phone.
About five hours per charge: the 2500mAh cell runs about five hours, and a power bank in the bag extends that to days.
Records locally: footage is saved to a microSD card up to 128GB rather than to a cloud service.
No subscription: live view, recording and playback are included. There is no monthly fee.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Your Own Front Room While You Are Out

Set the bag on a shelf in a room of your own house, and check in from the app during the day. Motion alerts tell you when something moved rather than leaving you to scrub through hours of footage.

Checking In On Your Own Home As a Parent

Parents use a camera like this to see their own child and their own living room during the day from work. If anyone else is in the house, tell them the room is monitored: that is both the law and the sensible way to run it.

A Room You Rent Out Between Guests

Common areas of a property you own, covered while it is empty between bookings, with notice at the entrance. It gives you a dated record of the condition of the room and any movement in it.

How it Works

Pair it: install the free app on iOS or Android and join the camera to your WiFi network.
Place or carry it: set the bag where you want the room covered, or carry it. Put up notice if other people use the space.
Watch or review: stream live from the app, or take the microSD card out and read the files on a computer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I legally use this?

You can record a space you own or control, which is what this is sold for: your own living room, your own business premises, a holiday house between guests. You can also record a conversation you are part of. The limits are firm. Under the Privacy Act 2020 people have to be told a space is recorded, so notice at the entrance is the answer for any area others use, and that includes anyone working in your home. Bathrooms, bedrooms and changing areas are off limits and intimate visual recording is an offence under the Crimes Act 1961. Recording a conversation you are not a party to is a criminal offence, which is a stricter rule than the one for video. Using it in a space that is not yours is not a use we support. This is general information, not legal advice.

How does the remote viewing work?

The camera joins your WiFi network and the free app on iOS or Android streams live video or plays back recordings from anywhere with an internet connection.

What is the real battery life?

Around five hours of continuous recording. A standard USB power bank inside the bag will run it for days if it is staying in one place.

Are there subscription fees?

No. Live view, recording to the card and playback are all included with no monthly charge.

Does it record sound?

Yes, at close range. Audio is regulated more tightly than video in New Zealand, so keep it to conversations you are part of or spaces where everyone present has been told.
