Description

A 16cm flexible neck on a 65mm base is the whole idea of this module: the camera bends into the space you have rather than needing a bracket and a clear wall.

The VIM-4GV100 records 1920x1080 at 30fps with H.264 compression through a pinhole lens with a 55 degree field of view, with electronic stabilisation to steady it while you reposition it. A 4G data SIM carries live video, live audio and motion alerts to your phone with no WiFi in the chain. Loop recording writes to a microSD card up to 256GB or the cloud. A 2000mAh cell runs it portably, or micro USB power keeps it going 24/7. It weighs 72g and works from minus 10 to 60 degrees.

Features

Flexible DIY install: Adjustable neck and pinhole lens let you place the camera discreetly and aim precisely where needed.
4G live monitoring: Works via a SIM card on the mobile network for remote viewing when Wi-Fi or routers aren't available.
1080p video with audio: Captures clear Full HD footage and live listening so you don't miss context or detail.
Motion alerts: Built-in detection can start recording automatically and send notifications for activity in view.
Power & storage options: Use the 2000mAh battery or continuous USB power; save to micro SD (up to 256GB) or the cloud with loop recording.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Workshops and outbuildings you own

A shed or an outbuilding on your own property rarely has a network. The 4G SIM covers that, and the flexible neck fits the lens where a bracket would not go.

Vehicles and vans

A work van has no fixed camera and no WiFi. USB power from the vehicle and a data SIM make the module self contained while it is parked up.

Temporary work sites

A pop up stand or a site office needs a camera for a week, not a permanent install. Nothing is drilled and nothing is wired in.

How it Works

Bend the neck to the view: The 16cm neck and the 170mm flat cable let you set the lens angle by hand, on your own premises, without drilling a mount.
Insert a data SIM: A 4G LTE data SIM is the only connection. Live video, live audio and motion alerts then reach the app with no WiFi involved.
Choose power and recording: The 2000mAh cell covers portable use, or leave it on micro USB power for 24/7. Loop recording writes to a microSD card up to 256GB so the card never fills.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need WiFi?

No. It uses a 4G LTE data SIM for live video, live audio and alerts, so it works anywhere with mobile coverage and no broadband.

How long does it run on the battery?

The 2000mAh cell covers portable use. For anything unattended, run it from micro USB power, which also enables continuous 24/7 recording.

What does loop recording do?

When the card fills, the oldest footage is overwritten rather than recording stopping, so the camera keeps working without anyone servicing it.

How wide is the view?

55 degrees, which is narrower than most security cameras. It suits a fixed close subject, such as a doorway or a bench, rather than a whole room.

What can I lawfully record with a camera like this in New Zealand?

You can record premises you own or control, such as your own workshop, shed, stockroom, office or vehicle, to protect property and gather evidence. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you should tell people who work there that recording happens, and you must not point a camera into a place where someone reasonably expects privacy, such as a bathroom, a changing area or a bedroom. Recording audio of a conversation you are not part of is treated more strictly than video under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
