Description

The same 72 gram module as the narrow angle version, but with a 90 degree lens, which is the difference between watching a doorway and watching the room it opens into.

The VIM-4GV100W records 1920x1080 with H.264 compression through a pinhole lens on a 16cm flexible neck, with electronic stabilisation. A 4G LTE data SIM carries live video, live audio and motion alerts to the app with no WiFi anywhere. Loop recording writes to a microSD card up to 256GB or the cloud, so the card never fills and stops. A 2000mAh cell covers portable use, or micro USB power runs it continuously. The base is 65 by 35 by 35mm and it works from minus 10 to 60 degrees.

Features

DIY installation: Flexible neck and compact base allow precise positioning in tight spaces without drilling or complex wiring.
4G remote access: Works over a SIM card on the mobile network, so you can view and manage live video from virtually anywhere.
1080P video with audio: Wide-angle HD video and live listening capture clear scenes and surrounding sound for better context.
Motion-based alerts: Built-in detection sends notifications and can trigger recording when activity occurs.
Power & storage options: Use the 2000mAh battery or continuous USB power; save to Micro SD (256GB) with loop or to secure cloud storage.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

Entry points on premises you own

A door or a hallway in a building you own or manage, where a 90 degree lens covers the whole approach rather than a narrow slice of it.

Storerooms and back of house

In a business you own or manage, the module fits above shelving where a full sized camera will not. Tell your staff that recording happens, which is both the lawful position and the effective one.

Vehicles and temporary placements

A work van or a site office needs a camera for the length of a job. USB power and a data SIM make it self contained with nothing installed permanently.

How it Works

Position the lens by hand: The 16cm neck bends to the angle you want on your own premises, so there is no bracket to fit and nothing to drill.
Insert a data SIM: A 4G LTE data SIM is the only connection needed. Live view, live audio and motion alerts then reach the app from anywhere with coverage.
Set power and loop recording: Run it on the 2000mAh cell for portable use, or on micro USB for 24/7. Loop recording overwrites the oldest footage rather than stopping when the card is full.

Specifications

Power: 5V, 2A maximum. Use the adapter supplied, or a standard 5V USB charger or power bank rated 2A or less. Do not use fast chargers (USB-C PD, Quick Charge, Super Fast Charging) or high-output power banks: they can damage the device.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it need WiFi?

No. It uses a 4G LTE data SIM for live video, live audio and alerts, so it works wherever there is mobile coverage.

How wide is the view?

90 degrees, which covers a normal sized room or a doorway and the space in front of it.

How long does it run?

The 2000mAh cell covers portable use. For unattended work, run it from micro USB power, which also enables 24/7 recording.

What happens when the memory card fills?

Loop recording overwrites the oldest footage rather than stopping, so the camera keeps working without anyone servicing it.

What can I lawfully record with a camera like this in New Zealand?

You can record premises you own or control, such as your own workshop, shed, stockroom, office or vehicle, to protect property and gather evidence. Under the Privacy Act 2020 you should tell people who work there that recording happens, and you must not point a camera into a place where someone reasonably expects privacy, such as a bathroom, a changing area or a bedroom. Recording audio of a conversation you are not part of is treated more strictly than video under the Crimes Act 1961. This is general information, not legal advice.
