The VIM-51HD is the larger of the two low power cameras in this range, 95 x 60 x 26mm and 110g, and it holds 30 days of motion standby on one charge against the smaller model's 25.

It records 1920 x 1080p at up to 30fps as AVI with audio and a time stamp, from a 2MP sensor. Recording starts on motion, on vibration, or to a schedule, and the motion sensor works through glass and windows. Loop recording keeps the newest footage as the card fills, and a 256GB card holds up to 156 hours. There is no WiFi and no app. Plugged in it runs around the clock; on its own cell it records about 9 hours continuously.

Charge it and fit a card: Charge the internal cell over the supplied USB 2.0 charger and fit a microSD card up to 256GB.
Set it down in your own space: Put it on a shelf, a beam or a bench inside premises you own or manage, where the lens covers the door or the area that matters. Orientation correction means it does not matter which way up it sits.
Choose a trigger: Arm motion detection, vibration triggering or a recording schedule, then leave it. On motion standby it waits up to 30 days between charges.
