The VIM-MINICAM4 is a standalone recorder. There is no app, no router to join and no account: a micro camera on a flexible base, a 3000mAh cell, a card slot and a remote control.

It records 3200 x 1080p at 30fps with audio to a microSD card up to 256GB and runs about six hours continuously, or considerably longer on motion detection because it sits idle between events. The remote handles power, video, stills and motion mode from across the room, which is the practical reason a standalone unit is easier to live with than it sounds.

Its own specification says 3200 x 1080p at 30fps, so that is the figure we have used throughout. The product title says 4K and we have flagged the difference rather than repeating it.

Can I watch it live on my phone?

No. This model has no WiFi and no app at all. That is what makes it simple and what makes it useless if live view is what you need, in which case pick a WiFi model instead.

How long does it record for?

About six hours of continuous recording on the 3000mAh cell. In motion detection mode it lasts far longer because it is not recording between events.
