Forty times optical zoom on a 4.7 to 220mm motorised lens is about as far as this range reaches, and the VIM-4G40X3S runs it entirely on sunlight: a 120 Watt panel at 900 by 800mm charging a 120A battery pack.

An 8MP IMX415 sensor records 3840x2160 at 30fps, and the PTZ head turns 360 degrees with auto cruise across 16 preset points. Laser night vision reaches up to 300 metres, and the white LED mode holds full colour to about 150. Human and vehicle detection with AI auto tracking works out to 300 metres, with email and push alerts and a built in siren. Connection is a 4G SIM including Spark on 700MHz, or WiFi. Footage is recorded to a microSD card on motion, on a schedule or continuously, and the housing is IP66.
