Description

A 60 Amp hour battery pack and a 60 Watt panel are what let this camera run 4K continuously off grid, and the whole system weighs about 12kg with the panel and mount, so the pole matters as much as the camera does.

The VIM-4GCAM30X4KS records 3840x2160 from a Sony IMX415 1/2.8 inch sensor through a 4 to 141mm motorised lens with 30X optical zoom. The PTZ head pans 355 degrees and tilts 90 at up to 200 degrees a second and patrols 16 preset points. PIR detection covers people, vehicles and animals to 100 metres, infrared at 840nm reaches 150, and a white floodlight records in full colour to 50. A 4G SIM on bands B1 to B40 connects it, storage is a microSD card up to 128GB, and the housing is IP66.

Features

4K 30X PTZ imaging: ULTRA HD 4K video with an 8MP image sensor and 30X optical zoom from a 4-141 mm motorised lens lets you inspect distant gates, vehicles and people in fine detail from a single mounting point.
4G SIM remote access: The 4G SIM card connection and live P2P monitoring let you view and control the camera from your smartphone, preview recordings and stay connected wherever you are.
60W solar power system: A 60W solar panel system and internal Li-ion battery pack keep the PTZ camera operating around the clock in remote locations without relying on mains power.
AI human and vehicle detection: Human, vehicle and animal detection with AI tracking and PIR coverage up to 100 m, plus optional auto cruising between preset points, focuses on relevant activity so the camera can track targets and reduce false alarms from general movement.
Floodlight, infrared and audio: White LED floodlights that trigger automatically for full colour recording up to 50 m, infrared night vision up to 150 m at 840 nm and a built in microphone with extended speaker provide visible deterrence, 24/7 monitoring and two way conversations.

Applications

Where This 4G Solar PTZ Camera Works Best

The VIM-4GCAM30X4KS suits large driveways, building perimeters, farm entrances, industrial yards and remote compounds where running power and network cabling is difficult. Long range PTZ coverage, 4G SIM access and solar powered operation let you keep wide outdoor areas under continuous watch from your phone or PC even when no one is on site.

How it Works

Build the mount for the weight: About 12kg with the panel and mount, so this goes on a proper pole or a solid wall bracket, not a fence rail. Angle the panel for winter.
Insert a data SIM: 4G with a data SIM from Spark, One NZ, 2degrees or a major MVNO. Live P2P view and PTZ control run from the phone with nothing on site.
Set tracking and recording: AI human and vehicle detection zooms the lens onto a target. Save the cruise presets and choose motion, scheduled or 24/7 continuous recording to the card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the VIM-4GCAM30X4KS need mains power to operate?

No. The camera is powered by a 60W solar panel system with an internal battery installed in the mount, so it can run continuously when the panel receives enough sunlight.

Can this camera record continuously in 4K quality?

Yes. The system is designed for 24/7 continuous recording at 3840x2160p resolution, using the included micro SD card for local storage alongside the 4G connection for remote access.

How do I monitor the camera when I am away from the property?

You insert a compatible 4G SIM card and connect through the mobile app for live P2P viewing, PTZ control and access to recorded video from your smartphone.

What kind of coverage can I expect from the PTZ and zoom functions?

The PTZ head can pan up to 355 degrees and tilt up to 90 degrees, while the 30X optical zoom and specified 300 to 500 metre effective distance let you follow activity across large open areas.

How does the camera handle night surveillance and deterrence?

White floodlight LEDs and infrared night vision LEDs work with human and vehicle detection so the camera can illuminate, record and track people and cars after dark.

Is the VIM-4GCAM30X4KS more camera than I need?

It depends on the distances. The VIM-4GCAM30X4KS is built to read detail at the far end of a large site in 4K, with 30X optical zoom and a 60W solar kit for sites with no power. If you are watching something close, such as a barn, a driveway or a small yard, you would be paying for zoom and solar capacity you will not use. A smaller camera usually does that job better for far less: VIM-4GSOL15 at $369 records continuously on solar, and VIM-4GLX-2 at $249 does the same from a power point. Our 4G Security Camera Buying Guide compares the whole range by job.
