Description

Farm gates and site compounds are usually the furthest thing on the property from a power point. The VIM-4G76 solves that with its own 60 Watt panel, controller and 60A battery, and it talks to your phone over a 4G SIM rather than a router.

It records 2560x1920 from a 5MP sensor through a 2.8 to 12mm varifocal lens, so you can set the field of view to the gate rather than accept whatever the lens gives you. The PTZ head pans 355 degrees and tilts 90, 5X optical zoom brings the far end of a paddock closer, and infrared reaches 50 metres at night with a white floodlight for full colour when you need it. Footage goes to a microSD card up to 128GB, and the housing is rated IP66.

Features

QHD 5 MP video clarity QHD 2560x1920 resolution and a 5 MP image sensor capture detailed footage across driveways, yards and work areas.
Dedicated solar power kit A 60 W solar panel with controller and rechargeable battery keeps the camera operating in locations without mains power.
Flexible remote connectivity 4G SIM, Wi-Fi and Ethernet options provide remote access so you can view live streams and recordings on phones or PCs.
PTZ coverage with 5x optical zoom Pan 355 degrees, tilt 90 degrees and 5x optical zoom help you follow activity and focus on key points of interest.
Night vision and recording modes Infrared LEDs up to 50 m, a white LED floodlight with full-colour night viewing and motion, scheduled or continuous recording let you match coverage to your site and risk level.
Smart tracking and alerts Auto tracking and cruising between preset points provide near 360° coverage, with digital motion detection for humans and animals and an audible siren for alarms.

Applications

Preferred Monitoring Environments

This solar 4G PTZ camera suits farm entrances, rural sheds, small car parks, depots and construction areas where running power or data cabling is difficult. Use the app and PC software to check live video, adjust PTZ angles and review stored clips while the solar kit keeps the system running in remote or off-grid locations.

How it Works

Set up the solar kit: Mount the camera and stand the 600 by 600mm panel where it gets sun for most of the day. The controller charges the 60A battery, which runs the camera through the night and through a dull week.
Insert a data SIM: Fit a data SIM from a major New Zealand carrier. The camera comes up on 4G across bands B1 to B40 and pairs to the app over P2P, so no WiFi or cabling is needed.
Set detection and recording: Choose motion, scheduled or continuous recording, switch on human and animal detection out to 50 metres, and let auto tracking and auto cruising cover the approaches while clips are written to the microSD card.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the VIM-4G76 need Wi-Fi or cabling to work?

No. The camera can operate using a 4G SIM card and the included solar kit, so it does not require local Wi-Fi or fixed network cabling for basic remote access.

How is the camera powered in remote locations?

The system uses a 60 W solar panel, controller and rechargeable battery pack to supply power, providing continuous operation where mains power is not available.

What recording options are available?

You can choose motion detection, scheduled or continuous recording, allowing you to balance storage usage with how much footage you want to keep.

How far can the camera see at night?

Infrared LEDs support night vision up to approximately 50 m, and the white LED floodlight can add full-colour detail across key access points after dark.

Where is footage stored?

Footage can be saved to a compatible microSD card up to 128 GB, and you can access live and recorded video remotely using supported smartphone or PC software.

Is the VIM-4G76 more camera than I need?

It depends on the distances. The VIM-4G76 is built for farms and construction sites that need wide PTZ coverage, with a 60W solar kit to keep it running through winter. If you are watching something close, such as a barn, a driveway or a small yard, you would be paying for zoom and solar capacity you will not use. A smaller camera usually does that job better for far less: VIM-4GSOL15 at $369 records continuously on solar, and VIM-4GLX-2 at $249 does the same from a power point. Our 4G Security Camera Buying Guide compares the whole range by job.
