4K matters most when you are going to crop. The VIM-4G20X3 records 3840x2160 at 30fps from an 8MP IMX415 sensor, so a figure picked up at range still holds detail once you zoom into the frame afterwards.

20X optical zoom on a 4.7 to 96mm lens does the work in the moment, and the PTZ head turns 360 degrees with auto cruise across preset points. Laser night vision reaches up to 300 metres and a white LED mode covers 100 metres in full colour. Detection runs to 300 metres for people, animals and vehicles, with push and email alerts and a built in siren. It takes a 4G SIM including the 700MHz rural band, or WiFi, and records to a microSD card up to 256GB. The IP67 housing runs from a 12V 5A supply.
