Remote Block With No Internet

Two things. A 4G nano SIM card with an active data plan from a provider such as Spark, One NZ or 2degrees, and a hub location with adequate 4G reception from that provider. The system needs a mobile signal to reach the internet.

How do I check for 4G coverage at my property?

Check before you buy. All the major New Zealand providers publish coverage maps on their websites. Search for the provider's coverage map, open their official page and enter your property address to see the expected signal strength.

Do I need a WiFi internet connection at my property?

No. This system is built for locations with no existing internet. The hub makes its own 4G connection, which is what lets you reach all four cameras from your phone.

Can the cameras record 24/7 or only when motion is detected?

The system is designed for motion-activated recording to conserve power, so the cameras wake and record when the PIR sensor detects activity. It also supports scheduled recording, so you can set specific times. It is not designed for continuous 24/7 recording.

How are the video recordings stored?

Recordings save to a single micro SD card (up to 256GB, not included) inside the NVR hub. You can also subscribe to optional cloud storage for an off-site backup.

How far can the cameras be from the central NVR hub?

The cameras talk to the hub over a private WiFi network. In an open area the range is up to 200 metres. Where buildings or heavy walls sit in the way, the effective working range is between 50 and 100 metres.
