Description

The VIM-HCAM3 is a small two stage air purifier, 60 x 60 x 130mm, with a 1080p camera in the side vent. It runs from USB-C so it works around the clock, cleaning the air and covering the room at the same time.

The camera records 1920 x 1080 at 25fps through a 90 degree lens with infrared for dark rooms, joins your WiFi router for live view and motion alerts on Android or iOS, and saves to a microSD card up to 128GB. Motion detection reaches about 6m.

Features

Runs 24/7 on USB-C: constantly powered, so both the filter and the camera keep working without a battery to manage.
Two stage filtration: designed to reduce smoke, mould, odours and common airborne allergens.
1080p with a 90 degree lens: 1920 x 1080 at 25fps, wide enough to cover a room from a shelf or a bench.
Infrared night recording: records in a dark room without adding visible light to it.
WiFi live view and alerts: joins your router and streams to the free Android or iOS app, with pop-up motion notifications.
Motion detection to about 6m: records events rather than empty hours, with loop recording available in the app.
128GB local storage: microSD up to 128GB, so footage stays in the building.

Applications

Real-World Scenarios

A Room In Your Own Home

A living room or home office where an air purifier is a normal thing to own. It is powered anyway, so the camera runs whenever the purifier does.

Checking On Your Own Home During The Day

Parents use a camera like this to look in on their own living room and their own child from work. If anyone else is in the house, tell them the room is monitored: that is both what the law expects and the sensible way to run it.

Reception Or Small Office You Run

Premises you manage, with notice at the entrance. The purifier is doing visible work for the people in the room, and the camera covers the space during working hours.

How it Works

Place and power it: set it on a shelf or bench facing the area you want covered and connect USB-C power. It needs a permanent supply to run continuously.
Connect: install the free Android or iOS app and join it to your WiFi router.
Record and review: choose motion recording for events or continuous for a full day, then watch live or play back in the app.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I use this in my home or business?

You can record a space you own or control. Your own house, your own office or shop, a stockroom, a garage or a holiday house are all ordinary lawful uses and they are what this is sold for. The limits are worth setting up correctly from the start. The Privacy Act 2020 expects people to be told when a space is being recorded, so a notice at the entrance is the usual answer for any area that staff, visitors or contractors use. Bathrooms, changing areas and bedrooms are off limits, and intimate visual recording is an offence under the Crimes Act 1961. Audio is treated more strictly than video: recording a private conversation you are not part of is a criminal offence. If the space is not yours to control, this is not the right device for it. This is general information, not legal advice.

What happens when the card fills up?

Turn loop recording on in the app and the oldest files are overwritten first, so recording continues. Without it, recording stops when the card is full.

Where is the lens?

In the side vent of the housing, giving a 90 degree field of view across the room.

Can I watch it while I am out?

Yes. Join it to your WiFi router and use the Android or iOS app for live view and motion alerts.

Does it record in the dark?

Yes. Infrared lets it record in a dark room without adding visible light to it. Night clips play back the same way as daytime footage.

Can it run all the time?

Yes, on USB-C power. Both the purifier and the camera are designed for continuous operation.
