A yard or a job site sits empty overnight, and by morning something has gone. This four channel system puts 2K solar cameras around the perimeter and records them to an NVR you keep on site, so the footage is yours whether or not the internet is up. Each camera charges from its own panel, so there is no power cable to run to any of them.

Construction Site or Yard

The gates are shut and the site is empty, and equipment still goes missing. Four cameras around the compound record to the NVR you keep inside the site office, and because the cameras run on solar there is no cable at the camera to cut or pull down.

A shed with power at the wall and nothing else. Mount the NVR inside and put the cameras on the doors and the approach. Each camera charges from its own panel, so nothing out there needs an outlet, and the recordings stay in the shed rather than on someone else's server.

How it Works

Mount the NVR indoors and connect it to your router with the included ethernet cable, or to a monitor over HDMI if you want to view it locally.
Mount the four cameras within range of the NVR and fit each solar panel where it catches the sun. The panels keep the camera batteries charged.
Open the app on your phone to watch live, review events and set recording schedules. Footage goes to the NVR hard drive, a micro SD card in the camera, or the cloud, whichever you choose.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this work without my home WiFi?

The cameras do not use your home WiFi to reach the NVR; they link to the NVR directly. The NVR itself needs an internet connection if you want to watch from your phone while you are away, and the included ethernet cable connects it to your router.

What happens on cloudy days?

The internal batteries carry the cameras through. They run for roughly 7 to 10 days without sun before they need charging.

Are solar panels included?

Yes. Each camera comes with its own 1.6W solar panel.

Is there a monthly fee?

No. Viewing and local recording are free. Cloud storage is optional if you want an off-site copy.

How far can the cameras be from the NVR?

The published wireless range is up to 15 metres with clear line of sight, so plan on mounting the NVR close to the cameras rather than at the other end of the property.

Is this weatherproof?

Yes. The cameras are IP66 rated, which covers rain, dust and a New Zealand winter outdoors. The NVR is an indoor unit.

Can I legally run these cameras on my property?

Yes. Filming your own property, including the yard, the driveway and the buildings on it, is generally lawful in New Zealand. Aim the cameras so they cover your land rather than a neighbour's windows or the inside of their house, and keep recordings only as long as you need them. A business recording people must also follow the Privacy Act 2020. These cameras also have microphones, and recording a private conversation you are not part of is interception under section 216B of the Crimes Act 1961, so turn the audio off if a camera covers somewhere other people talk privately.
