The VIM-ALARM4G-B kit puts intrusion and fire on the same hub. Two door and window contacts, two pet-friendly PIR sensors and a photoelectric smoke detector all report to a hub that runs on both a mobile SIM and your WiFi, so the alert reaches your phone whether or not the broadband is up. Two keyring remotes arm and disarm the system, and the hub takes up to 96 devices as you expand.

The smoke detector reports to the hub over 433MHz and the hub pushes the alert straight to your phone on 4G, so you hear about a fire without depending on the property's broadband being connected. The same hub covers the doors and windows while the place is unoccupied.

The Family Home Overnight

Everyone is asleep upstairs. A fault in the kitchen starts smouldering at two in the morning.

The detector sounds an 85dB local alarm to wake the house and alerts every phone paired to the hub at the same time, so a parent staying elsewhere knows as well. Arm the perimeter zone at night and the door contacts stay live while people move around inside.

How it Works

Power the hub, fit a Spark, One NZ or 2degrees SIM, and connect it to the router with the supplied ethernet cable if you want a fixed line as well.
Mount the smoke detector on the ceiling and the contacts and PIR sensors on their entry points, then pair each one to the hub from your phone.
When smoke or an intrusion is detected, the device signals the hub on 433MHz, the hub sounds its siren and alerts every paired phone, using 4G when the broadband is unavailable.

How long does the smoke detector run between charges?
